Puppet Show

Well Brooklyn and I have been hitting the town. He selected not to go to summer camp. Right now he is at work with his dad. Puppet show was at NW Library with a make your own puppet post show all promoting recycling. He is entering a photo contest next door. Practiced letters and soccer. Tonight a baseball game tomorrow a play where Olivia's dad stars in the Odd Couple. Hope to see the bell ringing in Fireman's park on Friday. Brooklyn agreed to watch his brother at the Summer Music concerts, as a hired babysitter. I hope this helps him allow me to talk to adults he does not like it when I talk to people in person or on the phone. Reading a chapter from the Dawn Treader every night. He still loves his gerbils and is getting into Lego following directions and starting sets on his own. The later bedtime was used to watch a movie without Berkeley this week National Treasure which was on TV. In the future I think DVDs would be better shorter time without all the ads.

OT

My brother wrote this: "Occupational theorpy works well because it works more holistically with
the mind, body, and emotions. However, this seems almost accidental and not
really conscious." I think it is funny but I was thinking OT helps because kids lack freedom to explore. Brooklyn needs to think growing up is worth it. He needs to think he has more freedoms than his brother but in our society there are no places for him in a city to explore. I let him go alone to the cupcake place. He seemed to like it I wish I could let him go alone to our park two blocks away. He is street smart. An does not engage adults.

Brooklyn rocked with his brother for me yesterday and I hope he has a fun week with his dad.

Culture and Cutting school

So we let Brooklyn skip out on school again this year to go to the rose festival his IEP is this week too, yuk.
The night before we went out on the rides he went to a play that Ben was in with Olivia and Mike.

Was not as into the rides as last year. Went back to school for his last photography class. He did really well and enjoyed it too bad they shut down the SUN School. :(

Zoo Trip

I do not know how I'm going to keep these journals separate for the two boys. Well Brooklyn went and took a bunch of images for his photography class today at the zoo. I need to get some on flicker I also shot some of Brooklyn. Brooklyn was able to spend some time with his favorite the pinguins.

Mother's Day

Berkeley and Brooklyn are wearing my out. I think they are glad that I am able to talk again post tonsil removal. Berkeley seems very happy at school. He slowed us down on the way to MLC because he wanted to carry Brooklyn's binder and lunch box. MLC Ren Faire was lots of fun I will post some images. I let Brooklyn run loose he was climbing a tree when I was done cleaning. Mike said that some classmates told him to tell Brooklyn where there would be because they really like to hang out with him. OT after school tomorrow, Olivia after school today, photography class wed. I really need to post more images from his class he is doing great.

Turtle funeral Song and Money is a Brat

A explination I heard Brooklyn telling a friend on our walk to the dollar store.

Money is a brat. Things use to cost the right amount. The amount of money needed to use and the money that you gave to get stuff was balanced. Now days money is being a brat. Money is way up here and people don't have enough and things are way down here (there were a lot of hand gestures) So, I was impressed that he had the concept of inflation. Reminded me of my grandparents talking. Than the hand (the scale of balance) went the other way he said this is not better. Money is just being printed by Obama he is giving away too much money. (the idea of deflation not quite right printing money I think makes inflation but the idea that stores like the dollar store selling stuff really cheep was not healthy either. He and his friend had two dollars each to spend. Brooklyn selected a sling shot and that gave his other dollar to the little girl so she could have two outfits for the doll she had selected. Brooklyn is much less into Obama than myself or his father. I wonder if he just sees the hip as too much too good to be true or what. I think he sees his classmates in Obama shirts as finatics. I think he likes Obama's wife and kids. He likes talking about her planting the "victory" garden at the white house and about the dog Bo.

A classmate gave each student a turtle from Baliess (sp). The first night he took the little wooden boobing head creature every where had him in photography class and had him help paint a cute piture was predtending he was walking across the canvas.
